PATHS TO FIREARM SAFETY

Project Childsafe is excited to announce the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) have released a new video series, “Many Paths to Firearm Safety,” to help new and potential gun owners understand their responsibilities if they decide to keep firearms in the home.

5 FFL ‘WILLFUL’ STATE VIOLATION

Since the 1986 amendments to the Gun Control Act (GCA), known as the Firearm Owners Protection Act, Federal Firearms Licenses (FFLs) can only be revoked for willful violations of the Act. The word ‘willful’ is not defined in the GCA, but through court decisions has come to mean a knowing violation of a legal duty or plain indifference to or disregard of a known legal duty on the part of an FFL conducting its firearm business.

Firearms ownership is rising at a rapid rate.

We are seeing the largest number of background check submissions to the FBI than ever before.

The background checks from May 2020 are nearly double the numbers from 2011 (1,534,414 in November 2011 and 3,091,455 in May 2020). That's about 103,000 background checks PER DAY in the month of May.

Our retail stores are seeing an exponential increase in foot traffic, and the new shooters in the crowd would be hard to miss simply because they are the majority. Uncertain times tend to make owning the best form of self-defense you can find a really good idea.
